IT Made Simple
In a sense, the cloud has been with us from the moment the telephone was invented. As the network expanded and evolved, the cloud then evolved to the internet as a way of sharing information, documents, music, emails, and more.
But still, the user has to have local resources (i.e.: software), word processing, spreadsheet, presenation and other software in order to create the document thathe or she want to share through the internet.
Cloud computing now makes it possible to move the software that is housed on the individuals computer, and the expense, to a service provider like Microsoft, HP, Google, etc. Since these providers have more resources in the form of equipment, manpower, capital, and knowledge base, then it becomes more cost effective to leverage their resources through the use of an internet connection and a web browser.
